My Winter Vacation was...........

The start of my winter vacation was relaxing. I didn't have to wake up at six forty five in the morning and walk up a hill. Sleeping in late and eating was what I did the whole first week. Watching t.v. was there but the light was only gone 8 hours then later it went frm8 to 9 to 10 to 11 hours a day. Since I has holiday homework I wanted to get that done. When it was my mom's or dad's day off from work we would usually go out. We would go to New Road, Thamel, Durbar Marg and our grandmother's house. I always hated going out because people would push and shove and since I am now used to it I don't mind. AS my parents go to work the next day my sister and I would work, eat, watch t.v. and go on the computer. After our parents come back form work we all chit-chat until dinner time. Half an hour after dinner we would head to the t.v. and watch our favorite shows such as American Idol, Ugly Betty and LOST. That would be our daily routine until it was packing time. Packing time would be chaos because we had to go buy our last minute things and food(tuck). I would say my winter vacation was a bore, at east and at the smae time exhilarating.

Daily life as a drinking glass

Day1-Monday: I wake up and realize that i am a glass people drink water out of. I keep thinking it's a dream and try to pinch myself but I didn't have any hands. My legs were circular and I could only move around my hopping. If I hopped too much people would think I'm haunted or somethings wrong with me. The whole day I was just sitting there in the top-right cupboard, staring at the opening door.

Day2-Tuesday: I was awake all night thinking how this happened to me and why it happened to me but i got no solution. Then someone opened the door of the cupboard and took me out. I didn't know what was going to go in me but i was supposing it was going to be really hot. I braced myself to get burnt. Then I saw some white looking thing come into me when i realized it was milk. I was thinking it was going to be hot but it was actually cold. I sat there for about two minutes until this small girl came and picked me up. I knew she was going to drink out of me and that her mouth would go on me so i just slipped out of her hands and fell on the ground. Luckily,I didn't break or that would be the end of my life. Suddenly, the girl's mom came and shouted at her for dropping the glass and at the same time I was laughing my guts out.

Day3-Wednesday: I was still lying on the floor until someone came and picked me up and placed me in the sink. Then I was washed and placed in the drying rack. Today, I didn't have anything to do because the family had gone out for lunch and dinner so I was just staring at the light bulb when I realized that I could hop around and do anything I like. I stood straight and hopped to the counter and then on the ground. Hopping around made me quite tired so I headed to the refrigerator for a drink. The only thing i could do was drink; I couldn't eat because i didn't have any teeth. Then I could hear the car pulling in so i hopped until I reached my original place, The drying rack.

Day4-Thursday: I was pulled out of the drying rack and milk was put into me again. Then I was placed on the dining table and the girl came and picked me up. I sort of felt bad when her mom yelled at her for dropping the glass so this time i would give her a chance to drink. After she put her mouth on me it felt bad but it wasn't as bad as I expected it was going to be. This time I didn't pull myself out of her hands. After she was done she placed me in the sink and rushed out for the school bus. Then her mother came and rinsed me with cold water, washed me with soap and placed me o the drying rack. It was around four o'clock and the girl was back from school. She picked me up, poured some water into me and drank it.

Day5-Friday: Since it was Friday I was expecting that it would be my last day as a drinking glass. I wasn't used all day and I was in the cupboard. I was just listening to the talk happening in the kitchen and staring at the opening door of the cupboard. The day was full of boredom. As it struck twelve o'clock I was back in my room, on my bed and human again. I was really glad that I was jumping up and down in my bed. These were the most weird but amusing five days of my life.

Why is there light in the morning but not at night?

This journal can come out imaginitive or scientific. I choose to write it both ways. It has been proved that the earth orbits around the sun and the moon orbits around earth. When the moon is passing by Nepal, America has fultime sun. When the moon is passing by America, Nepal has the sun. There is light in the morning because we are facing the sun. It is dark at night because the moon is facing us. To write a whole journal scientifically about this would be really boring, so lets bring some fun to it. I think it is bright in the morning and dark at night because there is a man stuck up in space and he has a flashlight; When he is looking around in space he will point the flashlight in your country and when he is not pointing the light to your country it mean its time for you to sleep. When it is winter time he does'nt point the light at the correct time because he is finding ways to warm himself up. In summer time he forgets to turn off the light because he is trying to find ways to cool himself down. This man stuck up in space has never been rescued and never is going to be rescued because no one knows about him. I am the only person that know about him. I don't think i am going to tell anyone yet!

Snow brings travel chaos in Germany

Two hundres flights have been cancelled becasue of the snow in Germany. The heavy snow has made life hard because residents have to stock up in food and necessary equipment since they don't know when the snow fall is going to stop. It's not only Germany thats has been hit with snow but the surrounding countries as well. As for Poland, one hundred forty people have frozen to death in the past few weeks. Germany's Civil Protection Office has said that due to the snow there will be power cute. Near the Greman-French border hundreds of trucks have been lined up not being allowed to drive anywhere until the snow has ended. On Friday, the Nuremberg Airport was shut down after flight number 133 skidded off the runway and got stuck in snow. Luckily no one was injured. They say this is the worst winter in decades. In some cities homeless people have been offered shelter in nearby places such as the Red Cross. The snow has still not stopped and no one knows when it is going to end.
